Thank you for your interest in starting a chapter of UAID! Members of a UAID chapters benefit from a number of opportunities including:
Training in health equity, with the opportunity to earn a certificate
Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating community health projects
Real-world experience addressing local health inequities
Opportunities to publish in the peer-reviewed academic UAID Journal of Health Equity
Experience writing abstracts, creating research posters, and presenting projects at national conferences
Participation in national case study competitions
The ability to earn certificates (in Health Equity Training, Community Service, and Leadership in Health Equity) as well as graduation cords
Monthly mentorship from experts in public health
Leadership opportunities and development of professional skills valued by health professions programs (e.g., AAMC core competencies)
Opportunities to fulfill academic credit, practicum, or capstone requirements
New Chapter Application
UAID will be accepting a very limited number of new chapters for the 2025-26 academic year. Any student may join UAID free of cost, though a membership fee is required for engagement with specific aspects of the organization; a scholarship for these fees is available. More information is available here: uaid.org/membership. All approved chapters must have the support of a campus advisor by the beginning of the academic year.
